Chapter One: Laundry Day
In the opening chapter of Jodi Lynne Morningstar, we step out of the cosmic games of the Overseers and into the smoky, fiery heart of Pandaemonium. Jodi, with her trademark sass, introduces us to one of Hell’s strangest corners — the Lava Laundry, where souls labor endlessly over molten pits like living agitators.
On her way, Jodi brushes past Azazel, her father — a fallen but regal figure whose broken halo still burns with authority. Their brief encounter sets the tone: this is a world where power is everywhere, but so is indulgence, irony, and mockery.
By the time Jodi reaches the pits, the chaos feels both terrifying and absurd. For her, though, it’s just another day — and another chance to smirk at the madness around her.
